Coach Ed LaRocque is a former NCAA Division I varsity distance runner. In High School he ran for Sir Fredrick Banting in London, Ontario, after which he accepted an athletic scholarship and ran for McNeese State University in Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Education. In addition, he holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Ed has been the Head Distance Coach of the nationally competitive Greater Uxbridge Road Runners and the Uxbridge Secondary School XC team as well as the distance coach on the track team since 2008. In 2015 Ed was one of 13 Finalists for the Brooks Inspiring Coach award and continues as a Brooks I.D. Coach.
Coach LaRocque has helped guide the USS runners to five LOSSA overall team titles in the last six years. He has coached numerous LOSSA team champions as well as individual LOSSA Champions. There have also been multiple OFSAA top ten team performances, including the 2013 Senior Girls Champions. He has helped several athletes of all ages, from elementary school to post-secondary, to great success - many earning individual awards throughout their time in the sport.
Ed's focus is the continued education and development of both the competitive and non-competeive athlete.

The GURR mission is to provide a safe, competitive and educational environment where athletes, coaches and parents work together to deliver a program where the athletes are encouraged/nurtured to reach their full potential both in their sport and within their community. Programs are developed and based on individual needs.
